He says he's decided to branch out because he doesn't just want to be a singer in a boy band. "I'm not just a boy band robot. Westlife have announced that they will be headlining the forthcomingHallam FM Feel The Noise Live concert at Sheffield Arena on Saturday 13 July 2002. The boys are currently in their native Ireland completing a mammoth European Tour , which included 5 dates at Sheffield Arena last month seen by a capacity crowd of around 52,500 fans. Westlife are topping a bill which also includes fellow chart toppers Sugababes, and Pop Idol finalist Darius Danesh. Other artistes confirmed are Benefit, D-Mac, Claire Sweeney, Alice Band, Ryze, Kelly Llorenna, Busted, Rhianna, 3SL, Michelle Branch and Abs, with more acts to be announced shortly. Tickets are currently available from the Sheffield Arena Box Office, priced at £15 and £10.

WESTLIFE'S only unattached man Kian Egan has found it hard to find love. But it looks like his romantic fortunes have been given a boost. The singer was spotted with a mystery blonde on what seemed suspiciously like a shopping expedition to find an engagement ring. Casually-dressed Kian looked blissfully happy as he whisked his attractive companion into Cartier in London, where they spent hours looking at rings. Could Kian be set to follow bandmate Bryan McFadden up the aisle?

IRISH pop heartthrobs Westlife yesterday warned 25,000 primary seven children to avoid the scourge of drugs. The boyband told kids from across Scotland to say no to drugs in a pre-recorded message at a huge anti-drugs rally in Glasgow. Pupils from Keills Primary in Islay were even flown in to take part in the Choices For Life event at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. Alastair Ramsay, Director of Scotland Against Drugs, said: "The message we are trying to get across is that the power lies in their own hands and it is up to them what route they choose."

Westlife & Vinnie - the truth
Westlife have denied they intend to duet with ex-footballer Vinnie Jones for a Christmas single. Tabloid rumours started after ex- Wimbledon footballer turned Hollywood actor Jones appeared in a cameo role in Westlife's new, swashbuckling video for Bop Bop Baby. But Westlife's Nicky has denied the rumours. Speaking to worldpop at Sundays' Soccer Six tournament at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge ground, Nicky said: 'As far as I know there's no duet planned. That's not to say it isn't a question. It'd be a good crack if we did it and maybe sometime down the line, who knows?' Nicky was unable to play in Sundays' tournament, which the Westlife lads eventually won with a 3-2 final victory over Ant & Dec's team. 'I tore a hamstring last week so I'm devastated that I couldn't play,' said Nicky. 'The boys did well though.'

WESTLIFE suffered their worst ever blow last sunday when the group's new single flopped in the charts. The stars were down hearted after their Bop Bop Baby song reached No5 in the UK. Bad boy rapper Eminem went to No1 with his new song Without Me. They were also beaten by girl group Atomic Kitten with It's OK and by their old manager Ronan Keating with If Tomorrow Never Comes. The band were hoping for their 11th No1 single after three years of chart-topping hits. But despite selling out their current UK and Ireland tour, Westlife couldn't make a big impact on the charts. Shane Filan, 23, said: "It's disappointing but it's not the end of the world. "Generally your single sales go down when you've sold a lot of albums because everyone already has the song. "We've also been touring and that might have something to do with it." Manager Louis Walsh said yesterday: "The lads are the biggest boy band on the planet right now."

THE baby daughter of Westlife singer Bryan McFadden has been rushed to hospital with suspected meningitis. The girl's mother, former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Kantona, 21, was frantic with worry when seven-month-old Molly developed an unusually high temperature. But Kerry had to wait until husband Bryan came off stage in Manchester to tell him. The scare happened last week at Warrington Hospital, Cheshire. The couple kept an overnight vigil at Molly's bedside but doctors later said it was a viral infection and she was released the next day. A friend revealed: "This has brought Bryan and Kerry closer together." For Rav readers over 35...dope means good.

The Irish lads have been horrifying cleaners around England with their oh so outrageous rock'n'roll behaviour. During their recent stay in a hotel in Sheffield, a well-placed source tells us: "One of the cleaners at the hotel was almost gagging at what she found in their rooms. There were cigarette butts in tea cups, dirty plasters in the bed sheets and a rank stench lingering in their suites. "She was also shocked to find a huge collection of specialist magazines in one of the boys' rooms. It wasn't exactly the Beano, put it like that."

WESTLIFE'S BRYAN IS BLASTED FOR FLASHING
WESTLIFE star Bryan McFadden has been blasted by bandmate Shane Filan for trying to flash at young fans. Irish heart-throb Shane accused Bryan, both 22, of being "unprofessional" after he tried to drop his trousers during a gig in Belfast. The band were performing at the Odyssey when Bryan, married to ex- Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona, tried to pull his trousers down in the middle of a dance routine. But the singer's bad boy behaviour is starting to cause tensions within the band. Shane said: "Bryan's playing up may be funny to the audience, but it's very f***ing annoying. Massively so. It looks unprofessional when we're busy dancing." But Bryan is unrepentant. He said: "I'm not acting up to annoy the others. I get bored easily and I just want to have fun, that's all." Bryan's antics are starting to damage the boy band's clean-cut image. Most recently, he was exposed for having sex with a lap dancer on his stag night, while Kerry was at home looking after their baby girl Molly. Earlier this year, he got into a brawl with garage act So Solid Crew at the Brit Awards. Boozed-up Bryan started the fight when the band went to accept their gong for Best Pop Act. He branded the garage stars "crap" and allegedly threw bottles at them. Westlife's bodyguards were forced to restrain Bryan from hitting out at some of the Crew members, including Megaman, Oxide and Neutrino. Shane has also slammed Bryan for his bad behaviour at the prestigious ceremony. He said: "I think what Bryan did was very stupid. "He should not have done it."

Last time there they played in tiny venues. Now they have been promised appearances on the biggest TV shows in the US. They will also film a new £1million video for a re-release of World Of Our Own. The group’s KIAN EGAN tells me: “We owe it to ourselves to have one more go. Last time we went it was horrible but now we have been booked on shows like DAVID LETTERMAN and JAY LENO.”

Eminem, Atomic Kitten And Westlife In UK Chart Battle
Eminem's new single Without Me looks set to trouble the top spot on this week's UK singles chart. According to midweek figures, Eminem should knock Liberty X off the top position. But new tracks like Atomic Kitten's It's OK and Westlife's Bop Bop Baby are also in the running. Other entries into the top 20 look likely to come from Ms Dynamite, Korn and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. DJ Shadow, Billy Bragg and Electric Soft Parade should debut in the top 30, according to NME.COM.

BRYAN SAVAGES POP RIVALS
Bryan McFadden has declared that Westlife are an "above average" band and claimed their defunct pop rivals, Steps, Five and Boyzone, weren't very talented. Speaking to Q magazine, the outspoken singer boasted: "It's pretty obvious that we are above average. I would never try to convince you that Westlife is a credible band, but we do have a talent - and that talent is singing. All those other bands - Steps, Five, Boyzone - split up because they were never any good, but also because they hated each other. Boyzone was a perfect case in point: Ronan had the voice, the personality, the looks. No wonder there was tension - the others couldn't compete. In Westlife, we can all sing and we all have the look!" Meanwhile, Bryan's Westlife bandmate Kian Egan has said he's "f****** sick" of people thinking that they're are just another pop band and even compared his outfit to rockers-du-jour, The Strokes. "I'm a rock fan. I listen to Metallica and Faith No More. I play a mean electric guitar," Kian revealed, adding, "When people come to see us in concert, they leave pleasantly surprised. Watch us tonight, and you'll realise that it's not just The Strokes who put on a good show."

WESTLIFE put a smile back on tragic orphan Kenny Wong's face for the first time since his parents died. The big-hearted band chatted and played with Kenny, seven, before their concert at the Manchester Evening News Arena on Thursday. And they gave him a football and wrote messages in his programme. Kenny's dad Chi, 59, and mum Jun, 35, and his brother Harry, two, died in a fire at their home in Tameside, Manchester, last June. He now lives with his half-sister June and her family in Salford. The meeting with the band was arranged by Greater Manchester Police. Band member Nicky Byrne said: "We were happy to cheer him up."

IRELAND'S OFFICIAL WORLD CUP SONG GOES TO NO1 May 18 2002
IRELAND'S official World Cup song went to No1 in the Irish charts yesterday, overtaking Enrique Iglesias. Here Come The Good Times, co-written by Today FM listeners, features stars including Westlife's Nicky Byrne and DJ Ray D'Arcy. Ray said: "I'm delighted that the proceeds will be going to charity. Let's hope the team can match the track's success."

LOVE-CHEAT Westlife singer Bryan McFadden is back onside with wife Kerry Katona. Chart-topper McFadden positively purred with affection over ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry at a charity football match. It seems the 22-year-old has finally been forgiven for having sex with a lap- dancer on his stag night, given the way the pair pawed each other in Liverpool. It was the first time that they had been pictured together since McFadden's night of shame but they looked the purr-fect couple again.

Westlife battle with tobacco firm
Boyband Westlife's plans to produce their own range of clothes and posters are in jeopardy after protests from a cigarette firm. The Irish heart-throbs want to sell their own branded T-shirts and merchandising, but their application for a trademark has beenopposed by a Hamburg-based company that makes West cigarettes. German firm Reemark Gesellschaft Fur Marken Kooperation MBH feels there could easily be confusion over the supposed similarity between the names and argues that people might wrongly assume Westlife is an offshoot of West. The European patent attorney Reiner Prietsh, who represents the My Love hunks, says, "Both parties have put forward their arguments and the appeal board will make a decision in two months."

When oldsters mag Q caught up with Westlife on tour Kian let slip his musical tastes. He told their roving reporting, "I'm sick of people thing we're just another pop band. I'm a rock fan. I listen to Metallica and Faith No More. I play a mean electric guitar." And he's not the only Westlife rocker. Bryan also revealed that he's been secretly writing songs for a rock band. FOOTIE-mad Nicky Byrne of Westlife came a cropper on Friday. Having a kickabout with the band, the 22-year-old - once trainee goalkeeper at Leeds United - slipped on a patch of oil and fell badly on his hand. Like a trouper he did the Glasgow show regardless but, in agony the next day, he went for an X-ray and doctors discovered he had cracked a bone in his left wrist. Nicky joked: "I'm still available for the Irish squad. I'll be fit in time."

Bryan McFadden has hit back at the press for trying to "take him down".It was revealed by a tabloid newspaper that he slept with a lapdancer just weeks before his wedding to Kerry Katona.But the Westlife star says being in the media glare is all part of his job.Speaking on ITV's This Morning, Bryan said: "The press build you up and they love making you a success, but as soon as you're there and there's no more they can do for you they just want to take you down."It's the same with everybody. attempt to patch up her shattered marriage to Westlife's Bryan
McFadden.
TV chiefs gave 21-year-old Kerry compassionate leave so she could
return to the UK for a furious make-or-break showdown with her
husband.
While crew and contestants from her new show Elimidate wait for her
to record the last part of the series in Las Vegas, the former Atomic
Kitten singer is in Manchester demanding some serious answers from
Bryan.
The Irish star found himself in big trouble at the weekend after sexy
lap dancer Amy Barker alleged that he bedded her on his stag night
and then offered her £15,000 not to tell anyone.
In an exciting new career turn, Kerry had been in the Bahamas filming
an exotic episode of the show which has provided her with her first
solo TV hosting job.
But now she is distraught. And if it all goes wrong with the so-far
silent McFadden she fears she'll be left to bring up their seven-
month-old daughter Molly alone.
Blonde Kerry and Bryan, 22, were married just four months ago. But
we're told she is ready to throw in the towel if the Westlife boy has

3am's perfectly-placed source told us: "Bryan is trying to shrug off
the lap dancer's story as a load of nonsense. But Kerry's not stupid -

Just a few weeks later Bryan wed his Kitten in a glitzy ceremony in
nearby County Meath, Irish Republic.
The couple picked up £300,000 from Hello! magazine for exclusive
coverage. Sadly, the mag doesn't pay for divorces so there'll be no
money in their split.
Only last month Kerry was waxing lyrical about her desire to have
more children. "It would be great to give Molly a brother or sister,"
she said.
Now the big question is: with whom?

Wouldnt that be awful if all of this was true and they did actually
